Sagacity joined influential figures in the Utilities sector as attendees and proud sponsors of Utility Week’s Consumer Vulnerability & Debt Conference, which took place on the 14th and 15th September.
The flagship two-day digital event brought together key customer, regulation, strategy, billing, debt and collections leaders to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing at a critical time for the industry.
Our CEO and founding partner, Anita Dougall, joined a list of 25+ industry-leading experts to speak at the event, sharing knowledge and insights on the topic of data quality and the direct impact it can have on financially vulnerable customers. She delivered an insightful talk and presented key statistics on the characteristics of financial vulnerability, the role of good data in supporting these customers, and what can be done to proactively identify and ensure ongoing support for those customers in need.
Anita was also invited to join an interactive Q&A session, where a panel of experts held a thought-provoking discussion on the topic ‘what are the next steps in achieving an industry-wide shared register?’
Anita said: I was pleased to speak at this year’s Consumer Vulnerability and Debt Conference, as well as having Sagacity as proud sponsors of the event. It is essential that we do what we can to tackle the issue of customer vulnerability, and using the event as a platform to speak on the topic and to highlight how we can utilise data to help those most in need is vital. As we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, where over 27 million people in the UK are displaying characteristics of vulnerability and of this, 14.2 million have low financial resilience, it is now more important than ever to help those who need it most. This can be achieved proactively through the effective use of data.”
