The partnership between Castleton and Sagacity combines our substantial sector expertise, best practice knowledge and technology infrastructure with Sagacity’s proven data cleansing solutions and innovative approach to data transformation.
Together, we provide Housing Associations with trusted solutions backed by significant support, expertise and understanding of the way they operate, the challenges they gave and the distinct benefits of improving data quality.
Using our joint propositions, we fully dissect each client's issues and ensure they reap the rewards from having complete and accurate tenant data. This ensures:
- compliance to key regulatory practices and GDPR
- high standard of customer service
- operational efficiencies for the Housing Association
- reducing levels of illegal subletting and showing all residents at a property
- accuracy of tenant record for data migration onto new systems
Housing Associations require immediate tenancy data improvement but maintaining it is also vital on an ongoing basis. Timing is critical as they need access to the right data at the right time to address challenges such as the high demand for social housing and compliance with regulatory standards.
We help Housing Associations tackle both industry and organisational level challenges. We have implemented our tenancy data quality solutions for Housing Associations using data share information including several third-party data sources e.g. Bureau data, electoral roll, post office and land registry. This solution produces insightful results that allow the Housing Association to prioritise their organisational need and tenant behaviours.
Our insights have shown that it is important to fix data now and ensure it remains fixed on an ongoing basis. With tenant data changing so frequently, an immediate uplift in data quality will pay dividends and our solutions ensure that high standards in data remain in place.
We have recently delivered combined solutions for a Housing Association who were investing in new technologies. Prior to their systems migration, alongside Sagacity, we provided the client with three solutions to improve their tenancy data:
- Cleanse & Append; a solution using third part datasets combined with intelligent matching to transform and enrich poor quality data including name, address and date of birth
- Contact Refresh; a data enriching solution designed to improve tenant contact details using Bureau data including email address, mobile and landline numbers
- Tenancy Verification; a modular solution designed to verify tenant names provided and flag properties with additional unknown tenants
The significant data quality transformation provided by the Cleanse & Append and Contact Refresh solutions saw Addresses achieve 96% and names achieve 100% accuracy. Email addresses increased from 37% to 46% whilst Telephone Numbers increased from 26% to 68%.

Our Tenancy Verification analysis verified 67% of ‘known’ tenants and flagged nearly half of the properties as having tenants that were unknown to our client.
These outputs allow the Housing Association to benefit in several areas. A significant uplift in tenant data quality ensures clean and structured data supporting the migration activity as well as the identification of root causes for prevention going forward.
Through an improved picture of tenancy, illegal subletting risks are highlighted, and monitoring for health & safety and maintenance requirements are strengthened. Insights are provided to support property visit prioritisation.
