We are delighted to share the news that our Head of Analytics and cycling fanatic, Ben Hodge, is tackling the mammoth Land’s End to John O’Groats later this year in aid of charity. But, in order to warm up and get into both physical and mental shape, he has some other outrageously strenuous activities planned before his charity ride starts on the 10th September.
On 22nd May, Ben completed the first of these, a Tour of the Peak ride around the Peak District. This totaled 113 miles of cycling with 4000m of elevation. He completed this in 9hours 2minutes. A mere starting for Ben as he now focuses on the 12th June where he’s set to compete in the Staffordshire Half Ironman, where he’ll swim 1.2 miles, cycle 56 miles and run 13.1 miles in succession.
After a month of ‘rest’, Ben then gears up for a stage of the Tour de France, where he’ll cycle 110 miles with 6000m of elevation (that’s half of Everest!).
Ben also regularly cycles to our new office in Chancery Lane, a massive 54 mile round trip each day. Not bad going in, but after a full day of work that journey back must be tough!
Although Ben’s charity ride is his main event this year, please join us in wishing him the very best of luck for all his upcoming endeavors. If you would like to show your support and donate to the cause, please see Ben’s Just Giving page.
Keep an eye on our LinkedIn over the coming months as we follow Ben’s journey closely.
